More than anyone, real estate professionals, like
myself, know that buying a home is one of the most
important purchases you will make in your life. Due to
fluctuating markets and ever-changing demand, you need a
trusted expert in the area to make sure you are using
your investment dollars wisely.
Purchasing a home in the next six months might be the
smartest thing you’ve done all year.
Bottoms of real estate markets never announce themselves
with fanfare. Economists generally only determine the
exact bottom long after the market has sharply
rebounded.
The Federal Reserve (Fed) is more concerned about
encouraging growth than controlling inflation. Don’t
expect this to last. If inflation remains high, look for
the Fed to start raising mortgage rates right after the
presidential election.
Where are the best deals? Well, remember that the entire
housing market is on sale right now. The houses that are
most deeply discounted are foreclosed homes presently
owned by various lending institutions. These are
sometimes referred to as “REO” properties or real
estate owned. It’s not a bad place to start your
search for a home.
However, on October 1st, down payment assistant (DPA)
will be eliminated. As a result, 50,000 hard-working,
credit-worthy families will be denied the American dream
of homeownership in that month alone. If there's anytime
to buy your dream home, "IT IS RIGHT NOW."
