Welcome To Michael's ACIBN Blog Page

1/21/08
ACIBN is off to a great start in 2008.  The last six months have been devoted to getting to this point today.  Though ACIBN is not supposed to be about all the networking and promotional opportunities for the members, these are all the things that just had to be accomplished to create the highest value possible for the members.  We are certainly about "more for less with a reason".

I wish for you the best of 2008.  I know it is going to be a great year for all of us and of course I wish you were here.  I have posted a New Years email which was sent to our email list.  Please do take a look if you have the opportunity.

We are moving into some great new territories  in 2008, the first of which is a monthly bigger event.  Perhaps I will call it the ACIBN Big Day.  Everyone will be invited, so stay tuned.

Until next time,
In His Service and At Yours,
Michael Eilermann

Here is my first video blog to bring everyone up to date on all that is new and going on in ACIBN.  This is worth all of the 9 minutes.  Later videos will be shorter, I promise.  Hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by.  I thought when I started this, it would be a little more frequently, but the last several months have been consumed with new opportunities development in ACIBN and simply other matters of life.  You know how it goes.

Allow me to offer today, a few thoughts about networking and share with you a new free tool I have recently discovered.

Let's start with networking.  There certainly is no lack of information in print and on the internet about how to network.  Everyone who networks has their own idea about how to network.  And certainly, there are different styles of networking.  Some people network specifically for the sale.  While others realize that it's in the development of trust and the relationship that leads to the sale.  Networking is about expanding your spheres of influence and continually building relationships then maintaining those relationships.  This is clearly a lot of work and a lot of time.  One may ask, how do I get any work done?  Well, without the network, there may be little or no work to be done.  Scheduling our time is critical.  We simply must schedule time to network and schedule time to build and maintain our relationships.  This frankly has been a hard lesson learned by me.  Go figure!

We must also be open to allowing others to network with us.  That means first, answering the phone or returning the call, as well as responding to emails.  Doing this, we can easily watch our time fly out the window.  Our business may be going right along with it if we are not careful.  What this means is, we must develop some efficiency in our networking.  Meaning, choosing who we network with, where we network and having in mind clearly, what we expect from our efforts as well as, how to accomplish the most results with the least amount of time, effort and, to be honest, money.

Let's face it, the more networking associates you can have who know you, know about you, know what you have to offer, know what you need and actually care about you, the higher the probability for your success. That last part is the tough one.  If we are to succeed in networking, we must truly care about the other person and their needs.  Otherwise, the natural cycle is broken and it will never come back to you.

Funny thing about all this, this is the law of nature and it is also the true nature of our Christian faith, placing others above ourselves.  This is where our success resides, in other people.  To many, this may be a total change of course, and like a moving ship changing course, it takes time to change and gather steam again in the right direction.  The Atlanta Christians in Business Network is specifically designed from this perspective, helping others first, knowing everyone, and being available as an active networking associate, caring about one another. ACIBN is in a place no other network has ever embraced.  If you are not a member, I encourage you to check us out further.

Now on to the free tool.  It is called the Motivator.  It is a free little program that you may save from the internet. You may easily program in your own motivating messages for just about anything.  Then, once an hour (or however you set it), one of your messages pops up from your computer system tray with your own motivating message.  It is really great.  See the link in the right hand margin of this page.

Greetings,
Well, I have decided to start this little informal blog page.  There are so many things running through my head at times that I think God in some way wants me to share with who ever will listen or read.  I have the very same struggles as everyone else and just when I think things are so terrible, someone crosses my path and reminds me that in spite of everything, I still have it pretty good, as do we all.

I am also very passionate about the nature of ACIBN, what it stands for and all that can be accomplished for everyone, should they put fourth just a little effort.  Consequently, I become a little over zealous at times, loosing the fruit of the spirit of self-control.  My apologies for this.

So from time to time, and I hope frequently, I plan to share with you here things that are on my mind and how they can impact everyone.  The sincerity is real, the passion and purpose is real, the calling of God on my life in all this is real.  Lord knows, there have been times I really wanted to quit ACIBN and at those moments, God came through someone's voice, or something I may have just picked up to read or an unusual circumstance and very loudly said no, you can't quit, keep going.  This has come through some of the ACIBN members as well, with encouragement calls from out of no where.

Bottom line is, here I am, doing something completely out of character considering my earlier / previous life, something that I had no idea of what I was doing when I started and there are still times when I think I don't know what I am doing.  Then God comes along in some way. I feel  sometimes like Moses, "You want me to do what"?  Little did I know it would be so hard and little did I know that the evil one would be hardening so many hearts toward one another and toward ACIBN.  But that's another entry at a later time.  Today is just the beginning to sharing with you my heart and my thoughts.

Have you ever been in church, or in large Bible study, or any other large gathering of Christians, knowing that many were in business, and just looked around at all the people and thought to yourself what an amazing thing it would be if I knew all of them and they all knew me? And what a tremendous resource and opportunity that could be?  It would change your life! That is what ACIBN is all about.

I pray that our paths will cross soon, So until next time,

In His Service and At Yours,
