Fools mock at making amends for sin, but goodwill is found among the upright.
Proverbs 14:9

Fools probably don't even acknowledge sin, as they are generally out for whatever they can get, however they can get it.  Believers on the other hand realize that we sin every day, often without even realizing it.  A mistake is not a sin at the time, but it becomes a sin when it comes to light and we do nothing about it.  Doing nothing about it and thinking that we will just let it pass and see what happens makes us the fool.  So many glitches can come up in normal business transactions many completly unknown to our customers.  They could suffer without even knowing it because of our mistake.  Own up to it and put it in the past and gain the goodwill of your client for both today and in the future.  If that little glitch or mistake is ever found out, it will have negative impacts on your future relationship with that client or customer.  Owning up to it now because you know it is wrong not to, will put that little sin in the past, and gain favor for you from both your customer and more importantly, from God.
